More in the line of stupid Japanese game shows:
First the funniest, dumbest thing you've ever seen:
PacMan
Also:
Door Runner
Can't Laugh
Mushroom Torture
Climb into a tub of hot water, get a girl's chair to vibrate? <-- wtf?
Actually "wtf" for the mushrooms also - dangling phallic fungi in front of blindfolded female contestants is a game show?

The Photoshop bits are wicked funny. The phrase "baby-making man-batter" really sticks with you.
Understanding art for geeks. Some of the jokes are more successful than others, but the good ones are really really good.
Holy shit is this ever cool: a visual dictionary of English with 80 million nouns visualized and organized according to semantic meaning.
Classic Terry Gilliam: The Miracle of Flight.

I know I'm not good at Photoshop so I won't try that, looks fun though. I can read newspapers however, and saw this this morning. It's about how Marie Smith Jones the last speaker of Eyak died, but spent her last years recording her language with linguists. The author of the piece is Mark Abley who wrote "Spoken here" a popular book about endangered languages.

Special Political Links edition:
So far, the US Presidential election cycle is notable for how candidates of both parties appear to be talking about a foreign policy outlook completely disconnected from what's actually happening in the world. (Summary: Author contends that the catastrophe of the Bush White House has already brought American hegemony to an end, and ushered in a three-cornered great game for world influence that American politicos don't seem to want to admit is happening.)
It's also notable for how little anyone wants to confront the reality of America's alarmingly deteriorated and corrupted voting systems, which will almost certainly be a major factor in November. (Summary: A group of articles from one of the few political bloggers who seems to have noticed and tracked this crucial issue; most of them are following the primaries horse-race as if everything were business as usual.)
In world events, Joel Beinin provides some context and commentary on recent momentous events in Gaza. (Summary: The latest sham "peace process" appears to be dead, along with the plausibility of toppling Hamas via endless siege. More instability in the region and the discrediting of US-dependent leaders in Israel, Palestine and Egypt alike.)
